The idea of the Plague Doctor is a scary one for many people. For me, the plague doctor is symbol of the losses that count up in life, my anxiety of the outside world being able to see in, and the toxicity of society in the masses. Social Distancing may have only lasted the worst of COVID, but as someone with terrible social anxiety, the symbols of the plague doctor are expentially comforting.
